The SDM Law College and Centre for Post-Graduate – Studies and Research in Law is organizing a Medico-Legal Case demonstration of a mock trial on 26th August 2023 in association with Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal at Moot Court Hall of SDM Law College, Mangalore.
The programme will be inaugurated by Dr. B. Unni Krishnan, Dean, Kasturba Medical College Mangalore said Prof. Dr. Tharanath Shetty.
“The medical profession, over the years, is facing lots of challenges and one area of such challenge in Medico-Legal cases wherein as an expert witness a medical professional need to depose before the courts in tortious, consumer and allied legal issues. There needs to be a minimum understanding of legal process such as court examination and responses for the queries raised by advocates and judges. Hence, this program will benefit the students of MBBS, BDS and BAMS” said Prof. Annapoorna Shet, Programme co-ordinator.
